401 + 20± = Wow!

Have you ever been present where God showed up? I mean really, not figuratively. Not just excitement or a good time kind of a thing. Where the Spirit moved and you could see it?

It happened at Lifepoint this morning. You could feel it at 7:00 a.m. as setup began. In the moments before the first service started, countdown clock ticking backwards towards 0:00, pastor Jeff stated: “I’m so nervous I could vomit.”

This morning was the culmination of weeks of preparation and intense prayer. Anticipation has been in the wings of everything that has taken place at Lifepoint over the last month. Anticipation of something extraordinary happening.

Pastor Daryl tried to pray with the setup crew minutes before the first service started but was overcome with emotion.

Technical snafu’s were abounding.

So, what happened?

Attendance was 401 (unofficial count)! Better yet, during the service something like 20 people who woke up this morning and were not in the Kingdom of God, entered it with a ballsy standing up to be counted as new believers. There wasn’t a dry eye in the place! It was so thick you could have cut it with a knife.

Rocking music, motocyles being busted apart, a gutsy Harley-Davidson “Fat Boy” roaring into the gym, imagery from “The Passion,” 696 names that have been prayed over for weeks — names that represent lost people who are loved by people at Lifepoint — being raised in the form of a cross . . . Easter at Lifepoint.

Nothing will be the same from this point forward.
